Earnie Dyke

Member of the Board of Directors

Welcome and thank you for visiting my Board Member fundraisers
web page here at J.P.

I have been a member of the Board of Directors for almost two years now but my involvement with J.P. goes back nine years.  My first experience was as the parent of a camper.  My eldest daughter attended during her middle school years and loved it.  She is 21 now and she still remembers her time at J.P. with fondness.  My eldest son and his wife have both staffed at J.P. for many years and will do so again this year.  My youngest daughter attended as a camper for the second and last time last year and she has been so upset this year that she is too old to attend again.  To keep the tradition going this year my youngest son will attend for the first time this summer.

As for myself, in addition to being a member of the Board, I have staffed a couple of years as a Site Coordinator and this summer will be my second as a “Tool Guy”.  So as you can see, J.P. is a large part of my life and as a member of the Board I want to do all I can to ensure that many others have the opportunity to experience the power God can provide us through mission.  To this end each member of the Board has pledged to raise $3,000.00 which will be used to support not only current operating expenses but also expansion of J.P. into other geographic areas.

Like I am sure you and your family are, my family and I are having to reprioritize our giving in light of rising gas and food prices. I realize that money that may have been more freely given in the past is being held on to a little more tightly now but I encourage you to share what you can and make a donation today.  If you are able, please consider making a monthly donation or committing to making an annual donation.  Although the majority of our camps are attended during the summer, the need for funds extends beyond just summer.

The ministry of J.P. exists to provide a unique mission opportunity for middle school students and in doing so provides much-needed home maintenance and repair for individuals and families who would otherwise not be able to afford it.  With a tightening economy we expect the number of people seeking help from J.P. will only increase.  Add to this the fact that each year our camp weeks fill within hours of being available for registration and we have to turn away a number of groups and you can see why the Board believes God is leading us to grow the ministry of J.P.

God has blessed the ministry of J.P. and has prospered it in ways we could not have imagined and I know he will continue to do so as long as we are faithful to Him and the mission he has placed on J.P.  I encourage you to take a couple of minutes and make a tax deductible donation right now.

Thank you and may God bless you.
