Staffing FAQ

1. How long is the staffing commitment?

As a staffer, you commit to 9 days. Staffers arrive on a Thursday afternoon for staff training which continues through Saturday (attendance at staff training is mandatory). Then we welcome the campers on Sunday and staff together for the week. You're free to go after lunch on Saturday.

One of the great things about serving with JP is that you still get to work a summer job!

2. Is this a paid or volunteer position?

Treasures in heaven, but no real money you can spend here on earth!  It's all volunteer!

3. How much does it cost?

There is no charge for young adult staffers.  However, the costs for those applying to serve as Junior Staffers is $250.00 for the week.

4. Do I need to know a lot about carpentry?

It always helps! Truthfully, most staffers have some mission experience but are not highly skilled. Bring your best and God will use it to further His plans. JP has a Tool/Site Coordinator on site that will coach you on your site. You will be stretched, but you'll be able to do whatever task you're given!

5. Do I need a car while I'm at camp?

Yeah, we'd really like you to have a way to get around while at camp (Young Adult staffers only - Junior Staffers do not need a car) . The good news is that JP will pay for your gas while your at camp. We even fill your tank for the ride home after your week is over.

6. How do I apply?

Every staffer must apply one of two ways:

1. Online here.
2. Call us at the office and request an application be mailed to you. You can reach us toll-free at 1-866-574-5744.
