Welcome to the Steven Higbie page on the Jeremiah Project Website!
Just four years ago, I was
your typical middle school
student. I
hung out with friends, listened to music,
and played sports, but there just seemed to be something missing from my life.
Then, one night, my family got a phone call that would change my life. My
church was going on some “mission thing” called the Jeremiah Project and needed
another male chaperone to go. My dad decided that he wanted to go, so I was
forced to tag-a-long with him for the week. Little did I know, that would be one
of the best decisions of my life.
The Jeremiah Project is an organization that transforms lives for Christ through middle school mission and ministry. Middle school students spend a week in areas like Winchester, VA and Romney, WV. Throughout the week, JP makes the homes of the less-fortunate drier, safer, warmer, and more accessible by constructing wheel chair ramps, decks, providing insulation, painting, and much more. However, it is the kids, staff members, and youth pastors who truly gain the most from their week at JP. Through AWESOME evening programs, morning devotionals, and worship we truly “rock the chapel” at night. This experience advances God’s Kingdom and allows middle school students to walk with Christ and commit their lives to him.

Four years ago, I truly felt God’s presence for the first time at the
Jeremiah Project. Ever since, I have been committed to helping middle school
kids to experience the same thing that I felt. I have staffed on JP and the
three weeks I have spent in Romney, WV have been the BEST three weeks of
my life.
Because of my passion for the Jeremiah Project, I am hoping to raise $3000
to support this organization, and I HOPE YOU CAN HELP! This organization can
communicate the wonders of God to kids at a tough age and also improve the lives
of many in the Virginia and West Virginia communities.
Take a look at the Building the Kingdom Video,
www.jeremiahproject.org, and the picture above of me in action to see for
yourself the things that participants of the Jeremiah Project accomplish. I hope
that you can help this organization in any way possible and that you can help me
reach the difficult goal of $3000. Your money will help to transform the lives
of homeowners, middle school students, staffers, and many more.
This summer, more than 600 students, 70 homeowners, and 88 staff members will have their lives transformed by the Jeremiah Project. With your help, we can make this the best summer yet.
